The AABC Commissioning Group (ACG) is an independent, non-profit association dedicated to the advancement of professional, independent 3rd party commissioning and energy management services through education, training, and certification of qualified individuals to act as Certified Commissioning Authorities (CxAs), Certified Commissioning Technicians (CxTs), and Energy Management Professionals (EMPs). ACG's membership is comprised of firms and individuals committeed to providing independent, 3rd party commissioning services. Goals and Objectives: Guiding Principles: ACG has adopted the following Guiding Principles to help ensure that the association meets its goals and objectives while offering a valuable public service. | Independence All members must be independent of installing contractors, manufacturers of equipment or system components, or other entities that could affect the ability of the member to render an independent commissioning report. | | | Certification Applicants for certification must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the commissioning process, and demonstrate their ability to provide professional commissioning services in accordance with the ACG Commissioning Guideline. | | | | | | Training and Education ACG is committed to providing training and education for its members and the public. In addition to developing technical guidelines and standards, the association sponsors technical seminars and conferences that focus on commissioning related subjects. | | | |
Organization ACG is a subsidiary organization of the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC) and is governed by a separate board of directors, elected by the ACG membership. The day-to-day affairs of the organization are handled by a professional management staff, located in Washington, D.C. Committees are appointed to address various initiatives on behalf of the association and ACG members are invited to participate in committee activities.
